fixed, I had to make to "shared"; be advised that script needs work on aggregation smoothing.
the logic on that was mine but the code was gnaritas' btw
Care to elaborate briefly if there's indeed any real reason for the freeware to warm up for THAT long (as in "the paid version got a way quicker/better method implemented"), or is it just more of a "donationware" thingy that doesn't really improve the outcome at all in the end? Hope you're not mad at me cause first thing I did with this incredible piece of code was to get rid of the delay
I put that there for your protection. The bot will not calculate 12h slope correctly until it has 12 hours of data.
Until properly "warmed up" the indicators will do one of these:
In the enterprise version I build that data 12 hours into the past.
So you risk flash trading as indicators "level out" in the beginning.
I strongly advise against over riding the 12h delay. The proper hack would be to build the indicator on the first tick yourself.
oh thanks for the warning, so I'll better keep it running unaltered for the time being while I'm working on it (or the bot is working on getting the proper version soon
btw thanks a lot for the code, haven't seen many as effective and apparently still safe bots yet!
I'm going to leave that one to the community for the time being. By all means, hook it up and share, necessity is the mother of the botsmith
I keep receiving:
[2015-02-03 03:14:46] >> Starting portfolio:
[2015-02-03 03:14:46] >>
[2015-02-03 03:15:00] Zero Starting Portfolio
[2015-02-03 03:15:03] Your stop condition was met..
Should I start my funding in trade with BTC or exchange with fiat?
shouldnt matter really, it's checking the whole balance of your choosen pair:
if storage.currency + storage.assets == 0:
log('Zero Starting Portfolio')
Its always best to run a recent backtest up to the current candle in the candle size you intend to deploy live.
Then whatever the bot is holding, you should position yourself the same manually before deploying.
In your circumstance it seems you did not give the bot ANY funds; btc or usd. Hence it terminated.
so do you have live traders for your personal use that trade more often ? like every 12 hours ? Or do your personal bots also only trade maybe 1 to 3 times per month ? I am just trying to understand. it just seems like a lot of missed opportunities, time is money right ? and also i am not a whale... just have a few hundred dollars at a time maybe a grand so just wanted to know if it is even worth it for me to play and use bots. or is there a better method like trade manually although i am new to trading and make bad trades most of the time, or buy and hold ?
My personal / commercial honey badger only trades 2X monthly. Long trades are much easier to make with mathematical certainty... the more often you trade the higher your losing trade / winning trade ratio due to market "noise".
Is it worth it to trade by bot?
If you're holding less than $1000 you might want to just check honey badger 50X daily with a free backtest. It would be a good way to gain market insight without spending a dime.
Thanks for your quick response LP, I am learning a lot.
I truly appreciate the response. I'm obviously missing some key areas of the code that I need to manipulate in order to have it start working; I've only worked with front end development "code" and a small amount of js.
Nevertheless, Python looks very straight forward, but I haven't figured out exactly when I need to configure.
I think part of the issue is that I'm attempting to experiment with a small size, I'm only testing this system out .5 btc.
HB50X should trade with as little as 0.2 BTC.
I figured out my issue—just incase anyone else runs into a similar situation. I had to change my account to exchange on bfinex, it was set to trading beforehand.
Hi Litepresence any idea what this means ?

honey badger right after the 12 hour initialization badger tried to sell 2.28 btc at $223.00 and got this error and then stopped and restarted
@bulletproofcorp: that's a Coinsetter error and comes up when you have insufficient funds to place a trade. Did you have enough funds in your account to cover it?
hi yes i had the BTC in my account. should i have started with USD ? coinsetter put in the $500 credit and i deposited a little bit of my own BTC and i did a manual trade and bought BTC with all the $500 credit so i had 2.28 bTC and then i started the bot it initialized for 12 hours and then made a command to sell the 2,28 bTc then it gave the error ??
Hi, thanks for sharing this strategy. I'm excited to try it out. Is there any way to have the bot execute a bid at current_bid+.01 instead of a market buy? And vice versa for ask?
